to reiterate bc i know this comment’s response partially was to further fuel the fire— people have a RIGHT to spend money at places that make them feel included, valued, and safe. Cyrus, a CHILD, was chased and subsequently lost his life at a gas station… and this was the 3RD TIME Rick shot someone with 0 consequence. if your business was affected, either ask yourself why Black people feel like they aren’t welcomed/appreciated or accept they can do whatever they want w their money including using it to pour into their own. majority of videos are just boycotting and that’s PERFECTLY valid. there are not so great videos where orders are placed and not followed through or there’s property dx, ive seen Black creators literally speak up and say that’s not OK. genuinely not everyone in the Black community is cool with that just like how ive seen a group of Asians organizing and protesting for Cyrus to get justice (it’s in one of my reposts somewhere). stop letting the extremes dictate your opinions on a community. surround yourself with other BIPOCs irl if you can, not just your own, and you’ll find allies can be found in unexpected places

Some people will use any excuse to demonize another group. What happened was tragic and is another unfortunate side effect of some older Asians just disliking anyone who isn't Asian. People are allowed to boycott but sometimes they are just airing their grievances online. Terminally online people tend to believe social media over reality fairly often.
