So basically this government does not want anyone to own anything fully.

I will never understand that if Marietjie paid for that house with her own salary on which she was already taxed, why can’t she give it away without paying another 20% donations tax? That is double taxing.

Best advise - put all assets in a trust and make daughter the beneficiary therefor no transfer fees however opening up a trust cost money.

I pay tax on buying a house, interest and transfer costs, if I give it to my child after paying for it for 20 years, I have to pay tax and transfer fees....Nice.👍 What do I get in return? Absolutely nothing. It's easy, don't buy a house, evidently it's not yours.

I am divorced. The property is currently registered in both my name and my ex-spouse’s name. However, my divorce agreement states that I am entitled to transfer full ownership of the property into my sole name. How should I proceed with this transfer?. I am responsible for the monthly bond.

what if that property instead went into a trust? and the daughter was made the beneficiary and the trustee? wouldn't that be a better option?
