I feel like Nero is one of the most hated ones for no reason, calling him a copy of Dante when im sure its cannon he has Dante and Vergil persona, personality, character etc mixed in one, but he has his own qualities and traumas.

too broke for dmc so i stick with watching gameplays and analysing characters through said gameplays, so it saddens me to see these 'fans' mischaracterise them like that even after playing the games 💔

Dante being dumb is propaganda I'll never fall for Like this is the same guy who pretty much masters any weapon he picks up, figures out puzzles constantly, knows about demons to an extensive amount, and managed to figure out how to pilot a rusted down plane to escape in the first game lol I'm also pretty sure his demon hunting business also doubles as detective work no? He isn't a book nerd or anything, but he's smart and resourceful asf

people can't see they're all literally personifications of handling guilt and trauma, Dante covering up his ptsd with jokes and fun so he doesn't have to think about it, Nero and Vergil delving into the search for power so they can prevent the same thing happening, lady pursuing revenge as a means to cope with the events that happened, they're all inherently deep and surprisingly fleshed out as game characters and I don't see nearly enough people appreciating and understanding their depth
