Peoples lives are more complex than characters in a movie or series, in a series there's a conflict and problem they have or even a set of them and with the redemption arc it's like a forgiveness, obviously people can learn from mistakes so yeah in that regard redemption exist, but since characters only exist in a story we compare a whole life in real life with a story and that isn't really fair
