as much as i love bucky they shouldn’t have even included him in the thunderbolts, he got like 10 minutes of screen time (useless screen time at that he barely did anything) and those 10 minutes ruined his character arc that has been building for the past decade. he should be living his life helping sam or even better retired and trying to enjoy life

He wasn't supposed to be part of that group; in fact, he was working against Val and was supposed to capture the others, but upon seeing who they were, all with a similar story to his own, Depressed people, obviously I was going to empathize and obviously this Bucky was going to help stop the demigod. In the scene where they enter Bob's mind, it's shown that he was finally able to move on from the horrors of his past, quickly overcoming his traumatic memories, and when Yelena asks him if he's okay he says yes. I don't think he agreed to be part of the team because of Val; he probably still dislikes her. Rather, during the fight, he was finally able to feel like he belonged, with people who had experienced similar things, For the first time, he felt what Steve and Sam once felt with the Avengers; a family. But we are shown that he is still thinking about Sam; the way he asks him and accepts that Sam won't let them use the name Avengers is as if a part of him is still seeking his approval. He found a new group of friends he identifies with and doesn't need to hide his past, but that doesn't mean Sam isn't important to him. Each one is living their own life; the reason he didn't inherit the shield is so that Buck could make his own life, someone new, leaving his entire past behind.

It’s a sas to not to understand Bucky’s role with the Thunderbolts. Bucky stays with them because he understands all of its members and has managed to break out of his own downward spiral. He takes on the role of leader for this team of people who are trying to heal, just like he did. This emotional leadership is the ultimate culmination of his healing journey

I love the Thunderbolts, I think they're the cutest team I've ever seen and their dynamic is amazing, but the truth is Bucky just wants a quiet life :( That's why I believe that, regardless whichever group they try to put him in, he'd really look depressed. If he worked in a solo duo with Sam, he'd definitely look better.💔
