Homemade Rosemary Hair Oil 🌿 Today I’m harvesting some rosemary springs from the garden to make my own strengthening hair oil! 😊🌿 Rosemary oil has been used for centuries to support scalp health, hair growth and promote stronger, thicker hair, and it’s so easy to make. Simply add a few springs of rosemary to a heatproof bowl, you can roughly chop it to release more of the natural oils. And I’m using coconut oil and castor oil, because coconut oil carries the infusion and castor oil is fantastic for nourishing the scalp. 🥥 I then place the bowl over a pan of simmering water for 20-30 mins. This simple bain-marie method prevents the oil from overheating and helps draw the rosemary’s compounds into the oil. You can keep what’s left of the cuttings and propagate them in water to grow more rosemary too. 🌱👍 Once it’s infused, strain the oil through a sieve or cloth into a clean jar or bottle. Dark glass is better if you have it, but not essential. I keep mine in a cool place and it lasts several months. To use it, I just massage 2-3 drops, or half a teaspoon when it sets, into my scalp and through my hair about 30 mins before I wash it. #gardeningtips #homeremedy #rosemaryoil
