Even if we average every menu item (including Quarter Pounders) to a generous 0.2 lbs of beef per burger, 6.5 million burgers equals roughly 1.3 million pounds of beef per day. 2. The Cow Yield: A single commercial beef steer yields about 400 to 500 pounds of trimmings used for ground beef. 3. The Real Demand: 1.3 million pounds of beef divided by 400 lbs per cow means McDonald’s needs about 3,250 cows a day. Annually, that’s roughly 1.2 million cattle. While 1.2 million cows sounds massive, the US commercial cattle inventory sits at nearly 90 million head, and the US processes over 33 million cattle every single year to supply all grocery stores and restaurants. McDonald's entire US menu accounts for only about 3.5% of the country's annual beef production. You don't see them because production is heavily centralized in the rural Great Plains (Texas, Nebraska, Kansas), far away from suburban and urban areas. No underground ranches or clones needed—just a massive, highly efficient agricultural supply chain.

There's roughly 27.6 beef cows in the U.S. in 2026 on average one cow can produce 1800 burgers so that's 3778 cows a day 1,378,970 cows a year roughly 5% of the beef business.

I be thinking the same about chicken. just hear me out. you go to Buffalo wild wings one day with 4 other people and you all order a ten piece wing. that's 50 wings just at YOUR table. imagine how many other people order wings in that exact location... in one day. now add in another buffalo wild wings location. and then wing stops across the country. and then all the grocery stores that sell frozen wings by the 30,40,50 piece. we eat A LOT of fuckin chicken

Easy math... If each burger had .25 lbs, total would be 1,625,000 lbs of beef. Average cow is 1800 lbs. That would be 902 cows. Spread that over 50 process facilities.. That's just 18 cows per facility. No conspiracy here.
