I know it’s neither here nor there and every story is personal, but have you read and tried Brenda Batts’ “Ready, Set, Potty”? It’s written specifically for potty training autistic children, and we found it worked for our non-verbal autistic boy - the prep work before you start takes the longest though, it took us a month to get everything ready. We had 0 successes the first day and a half and thought we were going crazy over nothing, but things clicked towards the end of the second day, and he’s been toilet trained for the past 2 months now! He now only uses pull ups overnight. Just wanted to mention it because I never thought we’d get there at all, and it’s been the one success this year after our local authority messed up a bunch of stuff…

I got melatonin after one appointment with the GP and in regards to blue badge it has nothing to do with if she receives HrM or not it’s needs based. So you should apply for that and state why she cannot safely do things that a child of a similar age can with examples. I also just got one for my 3 year old who doesnt receive DLA yet.

with the melatonin i prepared for the pead by writing a list of everything that we had tried and all the courses we had done and it meant that they gave us melatonin first visit. fingers crossed for you x

I got all of these for my.autistic some age 3 except hrm I'm currently at MR stage but just a heads up the blue badge does not need hrm xxx

We’ve been discharged from continence team because my daughter ‘can’t be helped’ also they don’t provide latex free nappies but now she’s in the last size of pampers and I’m not sure what to do once she’s grown out of them 🙃

My daughter is 2 (3 in July) and we get all of those things you mention, we have done for the past 12 months! I’m so sorry you’re being failed. It annoys me how every local authority is different, it should be the same offering everywhere!

Girl you are being failed so bad I’m so sorry 😭😭😭 we got a blue badge for Rina immediately, as well as incontinence pads and respite (all by the age of 5), and she doesn’t get HRC! But with you on the HRC I don’t even dare challenge it because last time I tried they took our HRC down to MRC, then I had to argue and email the MP to get that back again 😂😂😂

Hey! You can get a blue badge without HR. My lo had to go to an in person medical assesment with blue badge team & a DR. The blue badge came within a couple weeks. They mostly watch them walk mark on a sheet & take notes ect. X

the way we have to fight for our kids is so unfair 😢 you can however get a blue badge and not need HRC my son has had one for many years.
