A productive first day working on my new dress design! I started by focusing on creating the pattern for the dress bodice using the draping method (explained more in depth in my previous videos!). Learning pattern making is such a massive unlock for creativity. I know many people start fashion labels without and pattern making or garment construction knowledge, but I think it’s a critical element of quality design. Knowing how different shapes, fabrics, construction methods, etc. impact the final result is the difference between a cool idea and an amazing actual garment.
