My grandmother believed every good dessert should feel like a hug. 🫐🤍 And this Blackberry Cobbler Bread Pudding does exactly that. It's a cross between a Southern blackberry cobbler and a rich bread pudding — made with buttery brioche, sweet blackberries, warm vanilla custard, and little pockets of cream cheese that melt into every bite. ✨ Then comes the warm vanilla sauce poured over the top... The smell of blackberries, vanilla, and butter coming from the oven is enough to take me right back to my grandmother's kitchen. 🫐🤍 Some recipes fill your stomach. The special ones fill your heart. INGREDIENTS | SERVES 8–10 Bread Pudding - 1 loaf brioche bread, cut into 1-inch cubes (about 10 cups) - 3 cups fresh blackberries - 5 large eggs - 2 cups whole milk - 1 cup heavy cream - ¾ cup granulated sugar - 2 teaspoons vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon - ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg - Pinch of kosher salt - 4 ounces cream cheese, cut into small cubes Cobbler Crumble - 1 cup all-purpose flour - ¾ cup brown sugar - 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon - ½ teaspoon kosher salt - 8 tablespoons cold unsalted butter, cubed Vanilla Sauce - 1 cup heavy cream - ¼ cup unsalted butter - ⅓ cup granulated sugar - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract DIRECTIONS 1. Preheat oven to 350°F and butter a 9×13-inch baking dish 2. Add brioche cubes and blackberries to the prepared baking dish and gently toss together 3. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until fully combined 4. Pour the custard evenly over the bread mixture. Gently press the bread down so it can absorb the custard and let sit for 15 minutes 5. Scatter the cream cheese cubes evenly throughout the bread pudding 6. In a medium bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or your fingertips until coarse crumbs form 7. Sprinkle the crumble evenly over the bread pudding 8. Bake for 45–50 minutes, until golden brown and set in the center. The blackberries should be bubbling and the crumble lightly crisp 9. Let cool for 15 minutes before serving 10. While the bread pudding cools, combine heavy cream, butter, and sugar in a small saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a gentle simmer and cook for 2–3 minutes, stirring occasionally 11. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract 12. Spoon the warm bread pudding into bowls and drizzle generously with the warm vanilla sauce. Serve as is or with vanilla ice cream #FoodTok #DessertTok #SouthernDesserts #BreadPudding
