A lot of people are talking about the people smelling but its just how the place smells! Open sewage, you can smell it everywhere especially off the main streets, I stayed maybe two blocks off the main strip of Itaewon and it was awful

I booked a hotel and could not get a ride there at 2am when my flight landed. they refused to give me a refund for the room. worst experience i've ever had travelling. they were rude and acted like 52 dollars was gonna make their entire year for a room I never saw at a hotel I never saw

they dont seperate drain water and domestic waste and they mix in septic tanks and the smell can leak out into the streets. its due to the rapid urbanization in the 60s to 80s

Okay as a Korean I’ll tell you why, we don’t use deodorant, we don’t use perfume with strong scent, we eat too much spicy food and garlic so our sweat smells like spices I guess. Even tho our basic hygiene is not bad as a nation (that’s what I believe at least) some people use wipes and dry shampoo instead of showering daily.
