@bethtricklebank: I had my first child in hospital, following an early induction that I was coerced into due to being young. It was definitely not needed (she was measuring big - but actually wasn’t). The whole thing was traumatic from start to finish and by the end I knew I would never give birth in a hospital again. There’s a story going round where a woman refused to be transferred into hospital after a free birth and subsequently passed away. I have mixed feelings about it. I feel she should never have put herself in that situation in the first place, but then I had to ask myself why she would make that decision? The NHS cuts areas they cover home births regularly, and it’s likely this woman had some birth/hospital trauma. So instead of blaming the women, we should be tackling the root cause of this ongoing problem. The NHS. #fyp #homebirth #birthtrauma #nhs #pregnancy
