I love the cyberdeck stuff but I am poorypoorpoor. It would be cool if you could do a series at some point about cheap/free components that would work to make a cyberdeck too, even if it had to be a tiny bit bigger. Unless the micro size is a key part of the cyberdeck stuff!

I had the idea of a small solar charger for phones and tablets and no, not just for iPhones or iPads. it's basically a stick that looks like a little solar panel and it uses the sun to charge your devices. some calculators already have this too.

i’m a middle aged dude that drifted from general hobby electronics tiktok into this whole cyberdeck fever dream subculture, and i’ve been enjoying my stay so far. i can’t even begin to tell you all how *boring* tech has become, phones are the worst offender (it’s literally been the same black rectangles for a decade plus) but computers too. i encourage everyone who reads this to really consider trying this hobby out.

i follow you specifically because of your feelings about ai. i don’t like data centers and what they’re doing to the planet, and i don’t like ai and what it’s doing to humans/humanity. i love the idea of solarpunk! bringing the tech to mother nature. an infusion of different forms of energy. so cool! wish i had the knowledge and skill you possess to make anything even close to what you create! 🖤🖤

Here is the Cardcaptor Sakura Smart Display I built for my wife. I used an ESP32 CYD for the base of the electronics. Making the UI was the most fun part because drawing Kero is so easy. I got to customize it so it sends us both reminders of some chores we have to do.
