Well it’s not electric or anything so it doesn’t need gas and doesn’t produce a horrible smell, no loud noises, seems relatively easy to upkeep..I’m failing to see the downside

It needs a rust treatment, a layer of protective paint and the blades need to be sharpened. Then, it'll be good for another 150 years.

The only thing is it needs to be sharpened, but otherwise the old stuff usually works way better than the newer stuff. Just ask my great grandmother’s cast iron. 84 years old but works like a dream

My parents had one of these, then got an electric one with like a chord and everything.. I used the old one until they got rid of it, then forced to try the new one it caught on fire, and I refused to cut the grass ever again 🤣🤣🤣
