@tunehitmusicacademy: Chords A chord is a combination of three or more notes played together. The most common type of chord is the triad, which consists of three notes: the root, third, and fifth. Using the key of C Major (C, D, E, F, G, A, B), chords can be built by selecting the 1st, 3rd, and 5th notes from a scale degree. For example, the C Major chord is made up of C–E–G (1–3–5). A major triad is formed by stacking intervals of 4 semitones and then 3 semitones (4 + 3). A minor triad also spans 7 semitones, but the intervals are arranged as 3 semitones and then 4 semitones (3 + 4). For example, A Minor is made up of A–C–E. Understanding how chords are constructed is essential for playing songs, harmonizing melodies, and developing a strong foundation in music theory. #chords #triad #beginner #piano #musictheory
