A lot of houses in the U.K. used to have the ‘Toilet’ ie Loo in a room on its own away from the bathroom, so no it’s not a bathroom.. the term Water Closet 🚾 was first coined in 1755 to describe small room-like closets or cupboards fitted with running water to dispose of waste. While the concept of a flushing toilet dates back to Sir John Harington's design for Queen Elizabeth I in 1592, WCs only became widely used in the late 19th century 👍🚽🧻🚻

I agree I’ve traveled throughout Europe extensively and of often seen wc signs as English has been adopted as an international language
