I know that you are a professional, and I'm sure you are very good at your job, but the comments I've seen on this video and in my opinion are saying that they don't like the new version. I think that it's better than the old one but it just doesn't sit right with me compared to logos you've designed in my opinion good.

Tbh the other ones wasn’t great but it at least had personality. This is generic, the ‘check’ doesn’t really do anything. The first one did have issues, but paper/journal brands can have a playful look-there are such things as fun journals- did they specifically say they wanted minimal or did you assume and change the entire companies personality?

Unpopular opinion I guess lol I feel like the redesign fits better with the vibe you listed. It has a much more minimal, calming, and editorial feeling. It was very busy before. My only feedback is maybe the brand mark could be stronger

Honestly, I’m all for critiquing yourself but the way that you suggest that your own logos are breaking non-existent rules or rules that you have made up yourself doesn’t sit well. Because in 10 years time you’re going to go back to the logos you’re making now and say the same thing that they’re breaking rules. When really it seems like to me that the rules are just stuff that you have arbitrarily made up to justify your current design style. I’m not a designer myself although I have done a few logos here and there and I understand that perhaps some of the stuff I’ve done in the past doesn’t fit in the current day or the current trends but I wasn’t breaking any rules. I was just designing based on what I knew at the time. At the end of the day I understand that if the client likes your design that’s great but not everybody wants everything to be simple and following these so-called rules.

I think the main issue I have with the new designs is that the tick really gets lost in the design. If you hadn’t pointed out that it was a tick, I wouldn’t have known.

In my opinion, when you put the checkmark tick into the P, it kind of got lost in itself. If you were to just look at the Word paper and ask somebody to point out the checkmark, I feel like they would have problems.
