@foxnews: An era of presidential travel is coming to an end. SAM 29000 — the Boeing VC-25A that carried U.S. presidents for more than three decades — is officially retiring after 35 years in service. The aircraft flew presidents from George H.W. Bush onward and became a familiar backdrop for historic moments. Its retirement opens the door for a modified Boeing 747-8 expected to join the presidential fleet in 2026.
