electrics are cleaner? how much of pollution has to be done to create batteries for EV? how clean is the utilisation of these batteries?

EV hate is so forced. They are better, yes it's a pain to charge them, but as battery technology improves, it's only getting better, current range is already much better than early EVs. I'd love an EV as a main car and a "classic" ICE car for fun at the weekends

I have solar panels on my roof, I charge my Tesla overnight for less than £5, as opposed to £100 to fill my old car with fuel.

yes, electric cars are great, but not ready. The problem is the battery. The Lithium needs to be replaced by something twice as good which would lead to smaller and cheaper batteries.

In my 3rd EV. And with every generation they got massively better. The first one wasn’t by choice. But after that it became my own choice. Just did a 2500km trip with 3 friends through France. Charging barely took longer. Every 2-3 hours a 10-15 minute stop was more than enough. Total charging was around €220. Mostly on expensive fast chargers. The only con, some French local chargers are a bit sketchy and not very reliable.

since when is an electric car in better than a petrol car the cost of replacing the battery pack is almost as expensive as buying a brand new car it costs a fortune to charge you can't take it on a lot of roads in Europe because it's too heavy you can't take it into a lot of car parks because it's too heavy the taxing it through the roof go see how this is better than a petrol car

gas cars are exponentially more efficient at a higher speed as the engine doesnt have to work hard to maintain speed, electric cars do need that energy. short range and city? electric is better, long range travel with alot of highways? petrol is vastly more efficient

Look at the 2nd hand electric car market, that'll tell you enough give it a few years they will be saying ahh we messed up we have all these broken batteries and cant get rid of them

What about the bit where the massive battery which will never stop burning if it is set alight. What about the battery degradation so the car travels half as far after a couple of years not to mention all of the harmful chemicals in it

he forgot to mention the value of the electric car will be nothing once the battery is out of warranty and if it does fail at that point it's a right off at over 8 years old .oh and the range of the battery will also be significantly reduced by 6 to 8 years depending on mileage
