I cut and donate my hair every year and this year I haven't because I want my hair long for my wedding and someone I worked with said it was a selfish decision 💀 Weirdly don't remember her ever donating

As someone that wears a human hair wig due to a hair loss condition, it is absolutely not selfish! Hair is a huge part of identity and self-confidence. Wear your hair however you like, you grew it! It’s not your fault or responsibility that someone else can’t. Remember, your body, your choice. 🥰

Few years ago my mom was getting extensions and my grandma got mad at me because I didn't want to cut and give her my own hair, so the extensions would cost her less (my mom didn't even care). She had it taken out like two months later because she didn't like it

I shaved my head recently and my friend was upset that I didnt donate it. I would’ve loved to donate it, but the longest bits of hair wouldve barely been long enough and i had a shit ton of layers

That reminded me that last year I cut up most of my hair because I just started hating it and I didn’t want to donate it to charity, but it wasn’t that good length wise cause I used to have a lot of layers

when I cut my hair off, I got told I was selfish for not donating it but here's the issue, my hair was 5 different colours and dead. I think the charitys would rather plastic hair than whatever was up with my hair

I started growing out my hair for my mom when she started to lose hers. She passed away and immediately people said I was selfish for not donating it… like no, it was for HER and now it reminds me of HER and is for ME.

fun fact, when you donate hair, it gets turned into wigs that get sold for insane amounts of money to cancer patients. the wigs aren’t free, you’re better off selling your hair than donating it. there still will be someone benefiting from it, just cutting you out of the deal
