Fei-Fei Li is a really smart researcher. That is evident even from her early work as a student. But she didn’t contribute anything comparable to the so-called “godfathers of AI.” Her biggest contribution to the deep learning story was ImageNet, an evaluation dataset. She has done other work that is excellent but it basically followed from the foundational AI work. Her own work was not foundational

It would be great if ‘workers’ were gonna be given new things to do but no. The selfish greedy people in charge of this will give one or two workers that work, and all the other work, with AI taking everyone else’s jobs. Because they think that means they don’t have to pay labour as much. But they ignore how much they’ve paid to push AI out there. It isn’t now and won’t in the future be worker-friendly. Those in charge of it are too greedy and selfish to let it be that way.
