@dennisearl: Every time I open social media, someone is telling men over 40 or over 50 they need a special workout plan. Train lighter. Take it easy. Accept the decline. No thanks. The fundamentals haven’t changed. Train hard. Eat right. Recover. Repeat. The only difference between 20 and 50 is experience. I’ve learned how to train smarter, protect my joints, and get more out of every rep. Age isn’t the problem. Excuses are. Are you training harder now than you were 10 years ago? Let me know in the comments. 👇 #FitOver50 #Bodybuilding #Over50Fitness #FitnessMotivation #MensHealthOver50

I’m 55 and still lift what most people call heavy. I have noticed recovery takes a little longer so I still push the intensity but only enough to recover from each day. I train on average 6 days a week so if I have it right I can hit each muscle group twice a week. In the past I would push 20-25 sets per muscle group once a week. I noticed recovery got harder so I broke it up and it helped! Nutrition is key to recovery and the problem for most getting old is that they back off of the food and hurt their recovery!

Question, I was 285 at 48, I am 205 at 52. Is still possible to gain muscles? I train 5-6 days a week.. maintain a calorie deficit. Vitamins, supplements. Etc .. Thank you
