@almansoor.gusau: BELLO MATAWALLE HAS THE OBLIGATION TO EXPLAIN THE STATUS OF OUR GOLD WHICH HE PURCHASED DURING HIS TENURE The former Governor of Zamfara State and current Minister of State for Defense, Bello Mohammed Matawalle, owes the people of Zamfara a clear explanation regarding the gold which he purchased during his Administration. Given the strategic importance and immense value of the mineral resources of the state, transparency demands that the public be informed about the quantity of Gold acquired, the source of funding used for the purchases, where the Gold was stored, and the records maintained concerning such transactions. Public assets belong to the people, and accountability remains a fundamental principle of democratic governance. Furthermore, Matawalle should clarify whether the Gold was formally handed over to the administration of Governor Dauda Lawal during the transition process. If such a handover took place, documentary evidence should be made available to dispel doubts and speculations. However, if no formal transfer was conducted, the people of Zamfara deserve to know the current status and whereabouts of the Gold. Transparency on this matter is mandatory as it would strengthen public confidence in government business. Empirical evidence makes it mandatory upon Dodo to provide a convincing explanation otherwise necessary penalties will be pursued, accordingly.
