Tarun Bali was 29 years old (born January 12, 1997) and had about 2.5 years of service with the OPP. He was originally from Brampton, Ontario (with family roots in Nangal, Punjab, India) and was deployed with the James Bay Detachment at the time. He was struck by a vehicle driven by a suspect (an 18-year-old man who had escaped from a hospital where he was being assessed under the Mental Health Act) during an attempted apprehension. #highlightseveryone #OPP
