@c5news: “War is nasty.” Donald Trump attempted to sidestep any responsibility for a US strike on an Iranian girls’ school at the start of the war, saying it was a “long time ago”, that “nobody did that on purpose” and that, “war is nasty”. The US president was asked about the bombing at Shajareh Tayyebeh Elementary School in Minab, that claimed the lives of more than 150 children and teachers, while taking questions at the G7. Mr Trump began by saying that “if it was our fault, and that is under investigation”, before adding that it was “such a strange question” to be asked now, four-months after the conflict began, and as he is finalising a deal to end it. “Nobody did that on purpose,” he said, before adding that Iran should be questioned about the thousands of soldiers they blew up. “War is nasty,” he said, while suggesting US defence secretary Pete Hegseth would be better placed to answer the question. #5News #donaldtrump #iran
