This Greek Lemon Chicken with Potatoes became one of my most viral recipes when I first shared it 1.5 years ago — and since then, hundreds of thousands of people around the world have recreated it in their own kitchens. Seeing this traditional family dish reach homes across so many countries has been truly special, so today I’m bringing it back for everyone who loved it the first time. A beloved classic in nearly every Greek household, this dish is the definition of comforting homemade food — simple to make, full of flavor, and bursting with Mediterranean aromas. With just a few humble ingredients, it creates a meal that feels rich, hearty, and unforgettable. Once you try it, it may become your go-to oven recipe too. Ingredients • 1 whole chicken, cut into 8 pieces (bone-in, skin-on) • 2 lb (1 kg) potatoes, peeled and cut lengthwise into quarters • 1/4 cup (60 ml) water For the Sauce • 1/2 cup (120 ml) extra virgin olive oil • Juice of 2–3 lemons (approximately 3/4 cup / 180–200 gr) • 4–5 garlic cloves, finely chopped • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard • 1 tbsp dried oregano • Salt, to taste Instructions Preheat the oven to 180°C / 350°F. Place the potatoes in a large baking pan, about 12 inches / 30 cm in diameter or another pan of similar capacity. Season with salt and pepper. Arrange the chicken pieces on top of the potatoes. In a jar or bowl, combine the olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, mustard, oregano, and salt. Shake or whisk well. Pour the sauce evenly over the chicken and potatoes. Add the water to the jar, swirl to collect any remaining sauce, and pour it into the side of the pan. Sprinkle the chicken with black pepper. Cover the pan tightly with a lid or parchment paper and foil. Bake for 1 hour 20 minutes. Remove the cover and continue baking for 40–45 minutes, until the chicken is golden, crispy, and beautifully roasted. During the final bake, baste the chicken with the pan juices 3–4 times for extra flavor and moisture. #lemonchicken #greeklemonchicken #greekcuisine🇬🇷 #alexandrashome #fypシ゚viral
