I don't have kids so I might be missing something, but I don't understand the appeal of actively watching childbirth vs just waiting a little bit longer for the baby to be born and cleaned up. Uness you're the baby's parent and want to be there to support your partner, I don't understand why anyone would need or want that experience?

a friend made a joke about my MIL cutting the cord, my darling MIL, who I love, immediately said "nope! I'll see the baby when they're ready for me to come over after." I set my boundaries early with my medical appointments for this baby and she understood I'm a more private person.
