@rakhimoff_amir: Here are the list of extracurriculars you should do as a high schooler junior that admission officers actually care about. 11th grade is your last year to develop high-level extracurricular projects and significantly improve your resume. Everyone else will just have normal cliche activities, but here’s how you’ll build a better activity list than them. Number One: Start writing a research paper with a PhD or Professor in your major. The easiest way to do it is sending out connection invitations on LinkedIn to PhDs and Professors. After they accept the invite, you send a message with your resume asking if you could help them for free as a research assistant. It’s a numbers game, so if you text enough mentors, you’ll get the research project. Number Two: Applying to the most competitive free or full financial aid offering summer programs. Like Research Science Institute, MITES, Summer Science Program, Telluride Association Summer Seminars etc. These are Ivy League feeder summer programs and will help your application a lot. Number Three: Starting a unique passion project in your major that no other student has. You can literally go to Chat GPT and ask it to create a unique idea that fits your interests that no other student is doing which is nonetheless very impactful.
