I go 2/3 times a night and all day but on tablets for prostrate cancer but they tell me no surgery just active surveillance and PSA taken every 3 months. Been like this for 8 yrs.

I will never forget the doctor calling me following a test saying he has referred me to the Royal Marsden. I said WHAT?!!! Cancer!! He said yes, sorry to tell you but yes. Thank God it was caught early enough. Bloody frightening and I cry every time I hear someone’s story as it brings back memories. Puts life into perspective especially when so many people do not make it.

I was recently diagnosed with stage 3 prostate cancer with a gleason score of 4+3. Awaiting surgery for a prostatectomy. Never had a single symptom only for a blood test for an unrelated matter showed an elevated psa. Every man over a certain age needs to have regularly scheduled blood tests as any rise in psa can be detected early and make an enormous difference in the type of treatment needed.
