unpopular opinion: in catan you should only be allowed to trade with other players when one of you have a road connecting from their settlement/city to your settlement/city. until that point you can only trade with bank at exorcist prices.

Love this game, I often say to myself I don’t need to win let’s just have fun, half way through I start refusing trades blocking roads I can’t help myself.

Played catan with a group of guys in my class and I very quickly realized just how emotional of a game it is. (Note I was the only girl and they were actually worried about me winning cause it was my first time playing and I was holding cards. Didn’t win but it was really fun)
