I'm not sure how it works in Canada, but I know that in Michigan when someone passes away, the bills that are left, such as credit card debt, doctor, Hospital, Etc. and are only in their name don't have to be paid off.❤️

Your debt doesnt fall onto your children but any money left in your "estate" (your account) can be taken by the government. Give anything you can to your children before you die.
