It’s the same as professional athletes, gymnasts, and dancers. They all still work out, train, practice, rehearse, and take corrections to continue to learn and improve their skills.

Does a musician need to keep training even after they’re successful? Yes. Does and athlete keep training after they go pro? Yes. Do dancers still attend Dance classes even if they’ve been hired for a dance company? Yes. Horses are the same. They need to continuously practice their scales, pump iron, practice their positions, just like any other professional. That’s how I see it in my head. Also, it’s training you and the horse as a team. Your team needs to learn each other to work together better.

As a English rider, i still work on my lower leg, sometimes my fingers are open, and even i can have my heal not down, i mean you have to maintain, and work on basics for animals and ppl, also i jump 18in and we still will just do poles just for the work!
