I first met Nurse Kevin of B.Beauty after a painful RF microneedling experience at a different medspa. He explained that Asian skin often has higher melanin levels, which can make it more reactive to energy-based treatments. Higher melanin levels can increase the risk of complications like post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, hypopigmentation, and keloid scarring when treatments aren’t approached with proper training and nuance. Education doesn’t just sit with providers.
