yeah this is entirely unnecessary, the film stock produces a far different look than digital does. compare most seasons of TWD to the last and you will see the swing in visuals

Back in the early 2000s, a company called Lifetouch, which did the photography for most schools, Walmart, and churches locations throughout North America, had a (still) camera, not video, that did digital and film at the same time on large format film; capturing to two mediums, so if you want a “world’s first,” you might want to rephrase your statement. The reason they did this was to provide preview images so people could purchase packages while at the photo shoot. Digital imaging wasn’t properly good enough to use for print at that time.

The Idia is not new. In any case, on digital sensor you will get reflected image. In some cases mirror could have an unperfections. If we talk about a very clean digital playback, it will perfect solution.

The Aaton and Arri 416 were better because they had a system that wrote Aaton code to the film that was also embedded in the HD tap output.
