One thing about Phainon that's one of the main reasons for his depleting mental health before he even had to become the flame reaver and bear amphoreus on his shoulders is that he always ALWAYS had to bottle up his emotions. He built this image of himself among other people that he's the perfect hero that never falters. His anger, his frustrations, anything that could visibly crack his mask against his will he always tries to dismiss them before it could take over his rationality.
