It is unfair to judge an entire continent or culture based only on a few outdated practices. Like many nations around the world, we recognize that some cultural traditions need to evolve, and our communities, leaders, and government are continuously working to address and eliminate practices that no longer fit modern values. If your goal is to educate, then present a balanced picture that includes both the challenges and the progress being made. Constantly highlighting only the negative aspects of another people's culture does not promote understanding—it promotes stereotypes and prejudice. Every society has its own struggles and its own journey of reform. Let us respect each other's efforts to improve rather than using isolated issues to define an entire nation.
