I bought a car and returned it 4 months after and got a full £22k refund. If you have it in writing that you made a complaint about the issues when you first got it then you should be able to go to the Motor Ombudsman if you can’t resolve things with the dealership directly

If you are able to spend £11k then you really needed to have been prepared to spend a further measley £250 to have a RAC or AA vehicle inspection done.

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, any second-hand car purchased from a recognized dealer must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described. If a fault arises within your first six months of ownership, the law assumes the issue was present at the time of sale unless the dealer can prove otherwise.

ALWAYS pay atleast £100 for big payments on your credit card guys! Your credit card company will protect the FULL amount even if only £100 is paid on your credit card, always keep you receipts/invoices. I had the same issue and my bank is sorting it. you are protected for up to 12 months with your credit card!

Omg not this coming on my fyp days after I bought a new car with similar issues. Ngl I took it to the mechanic day after purchase. Same day I told the seller I’m giving them two weeks to resolve this till I file in court.

My aunt dealt with something similar. Go straight to court, make a claim, keep all records and hopefully a judge will award you the money back.

Take them to consumer rights u got loads of protections when buying used cars these days for this specific reason do not keep these cars very expensive too repair
