Shoto never needed to forgive his father. I am glad we got to see him happy in the time skip, but no one can convince me that Endeavor deserved to be forgiven by Touya or by Shoto most of all.

If Shoto is a main character, he won't get softened by Deku easily cus we will see the story from shoto's perspective. Also, if Shoto kept his personality like before, he would be unstoppable. Even Bakugo is terrified of Shoto in Season 1 during battle training.

He was SO powerful before. Bakugo was literally SCARED of him, but they made him less powerful just to make Bakugo and Izuku look more powerful than him. Like he literally froze almost the whole Sports Festival stadium?! And I kinda hate how he forgave Endeavor, but wtv

that’s the whole point though? shoto has always been kind, but he had no way to channel that kindness in s1-s3 since he still held a lot of remorse for his father. after working through it, he realised that the remorse he once felt was pointless, and he’d rather redirect that energy into bettering and becoming the best version of himself. his anger mellowing out actually allowed him to focus on himself and what was best for his family. so his character development was beautiful and fit him well imo.

I like his new personality as well, but I wish they found a way to balance his caring side and his rebellious side, I think that would make an interesting "cold character" archetype

Let's be real... You people would rather see a character remain stuck into his edgelord phase just 'cause you find that hot or something. Shoto was a victim of the hatred and resentment he had been holding in his heart (which is understandable). His character development was about him letting go of that and rather focus on himself and what he wants. So he started using his full power (because it's HIS, just as Izuku said) and started focusing on himself more and what HE really wanted to achieve (becoming a hero for himself, not to prove something to his father, as well as discovering other passions of his - we see this especially after the time skip, in the special episode). He didn't lose his personality or backbone, he still has strong morals, he just let go of whatever was holding him back from reaching his full potential.
