@flyingwrench0: Any thoughts on why the push rod came out? There were no loose nuts, bolts, the push rod wasn’t bent, and the valve wasn’t stuck. #fyp #repair #mobilemechanic #smallenginemechanic #smallenginemechanic @Milwaukee Tool

Pushrods pop out when engine overheats. Usually from à mouse nest from winter that was unnoticed while running

All the extra work you did here and you didn’t even use a tube of gasket maker on the gaskets you destroyed

Just curious, do check for snakes or bees before diving into a unit that’s been sitting a long time?

Have seen some valves stick once the engine gets warm, move fine when cold.

I’ve seen stale gas cause valves to stick. Engine ran fine hot because fuel (usually ethanol), because it’s corn based and will have sticky/sludgy properties to the chemical makeup).

Deere seems the worst if those aren’t greased. I’ve had to take a torch to many. Wire brush on a drill usually cleans up those wheel bushings pretty well if they haven’t gotten pitted.
