Sometimes I wonder if the weird route is about imposing a soul onto Noelle so that she has more power to avoid or cause a certain outcome. Her ice power abilities is the only thing besides light that can completely kill the guardian spawns. Deltarune is meant to be a “complete game”, so the weird route Is done with the expectation that you’ve completed the normal game already. What if the normal route, is actually a bad/unavoidable outcome and the weird route is you as the player trying to brute force the mechanics to get stronger and change the ending at the expense of friendships.
