@hafsiebunu: A lot of people will misunderstand my point....The mistake isn't diversification. The mistake is diversifying before you've compounded anything. ‼️And before someone says, "Easy for you to say.”….I understand the criticism. People often look at someone else's opportunities and assume that's the entire story. But let's be honest…Not everyone inherits money. But almost everyone inherits something. 👉Knowledge. 👉Exposure 👉Education 👉Relationships 👉Perspective 👉Skills 👉 A head start in some area of life The question is What did we do with it? This is the main reasons I encouraged my sister to consider building within an industry I already understand... because I don't think every person should have to start from zero. Why should she spend years learning lessons I've already paid for? Maybe the question isn't what you inherited but what you're building on.
I'm commenting to cement myself on this side if TikTok 🥰

There has to be a really valid reason anyone would want to start from scratch when they already have something to leverage on

i agree but it depends on the family. That’s why parents play an important role in raising the children to trust each other, if that doesn’t exist they can’t build anything together. i know someone who had a successful business but wanted generational wealth so she decided to add her family members but they did not have the same vision she had, she went back to nothing plus debt

My grandmother and mother was a tailor. I fought it for a long time but I found myself back at tailoring. And it's easier because of the background and foundation I have with tailoring. Even if it was only passive.

Hmmm… this is a case of passion vs generational wealth. What if fashion doesn’t interest one and logistics doesn’t interest or matter to the other? I believe it needs to start with one and it is the passion from that one that will pass to the offspring’s and maybe other family members. Because starting up, you do not know who or which will rise to the top. Not sure LVMH started with all the family members starting in one line. However, with families like Dangote’s and a few others, they may be comparable to the LVMH in a couple of years/generations. Maybe!!!
