I think if he discards them they will return but if he stores them with no intent of discarding them then they stay like they did in 2018. As long as he dosnt hwve the intent of abandoning those blades I think he can go as far as he wants. though he's come tot erms to them so its not really needed.

The blades would reappear anytime Kratos fell asleep in the comic. In the comic as Kratos journeys through Egypt and meets Thoth the Egyptian god of wisdom who he thinks is an illusion because he is sleep deprived from staying awake for years just to keep the blades away from himself
