Ive been a Dental Assistant for 15 years . And This is exactly why I left private practice ! Private offices are not only always making their staff sell crazy treatment but they truly do not care for the patients. I now work in the community health center setting in Chicago and i absolutely love it . I really wish patinetes knew more about community health clinics vs. Private clinics🥺

Bone graft on a wisdom tooth is a common scam and even i didn’t know about it until i became a dental assistant 😭 I had insurance and was scammed out of $300 because insurance would NEVER in a million years pay for bone graft on a wisdom tooth that should’ve been my first red flag

I work with an oral surgeon, bone graft on the upper wisdom teeth makes sense because the top teeth are sometimes too close to the sinus membrane, you do not want an opening to that so that’s why we recommend bone graft

4k is definitely outrageous but do your research as of why bg is recommended because is usually on the lower ones. Don’t let people influence you based on their beliefs. Specially if they are not Drs. Just saying. Good luck with everything.

I go to Chinatown los Angeles the dentist charges like 300 for both not separately. the crown I had three holes 😔 lol it was covered with insurance

Go to an oral surgeon even though it might be more expensive. General dentists shouldn’t be doing anything more than a a cavity and crowns.
