@cbsnews: An 18-year-old has died after he was thrown from a horse carriage that overturned in New York City's Central Park on Wednesday. Alexander Kemp, administrative vice president for TWU Local 100, the union representing horse carriage drivers, said the driver of the carriage did not hear or see anything that could have spooked the horse. Still, the horse bolted away as the driver took a photo for the family in the carriage, causing the chaotic scene. According to the union, the carriage owner has suspended the driver indefinitely and plans to retire the horse, which had only been in the park for six weeks. Advocacy groups have long pushed for a ban on horse and carriages in the massive New York City park. #newyorkcity #nyc #horse

This is why we shouldn’t have carriage rides in New York, it is dangerous for both humans and horse. So many of these horses get neglected and over worked
