I once heard the argument that boys are much more active, whereas girls are supposed to sit quietly and look pretty. That’s why boys need longer, more comfortable clothes. I nearly punched that person in the face.

I think all clothes made for kids under age 10 should be the exact same cuts. You can still have 'girly' designs and 'boyish' designs (though honestly, any kid should be able to wear any color/design). But the shape of the cut should be the same. Until puberty, there is no discernible difference in body shape. Little kids don't need booty shorts and crop tops.

my point exactly, my 5yo deserves to put her butt in a sandpit without worrying about sand in her pantleg. She needs pockets for stones and treasures too. I have been buying boy pants for a long time now.

Every time I go cloths shopping with my sister for my niece, why are they all booty shorts and crop tops ya bloody perverts, and trying to find nice shorts for under a dress. 😪 IT IS THAT DEEP !

My husband and I just had the same conversation. We have boy/girl twins and I won’t buy our daughter shorts. She gets skorts because I can’t find shorts long enough. I size up in shirts so they aren’t all belly crop tops. The s*xualization of children is absolutely disgusting.

Little girls shorts have always been shorter than boys shorts. When the schools had the finger tip rule it was always hard finding longer shorts for girls. Uniform shorts if that’s a thing.

I think the point is being missed in the comments with everyone saying “just buy the boy shorts then” like yes, we will but we shouldn’t have to lol… there should be appropriate shorts for girls and boys. I’ve seen crop tops for 4 year old girls recently, where are they wearing those? To school???
