I’d be told to take initiative aka figure it out and so I would and then I’d get in trouble it wasn’t done how she wanted it done 😅 and I work quickly so I’d send emails and messages and follow-up multiple times waiting for a review before moving forward but waiting for that to be done meant everything would be late 😵💫

Me as a manager: Oh are they giving you shit and you're in the right? CC me on the next email and let's see what happens. 🤣 When I tell my team to loop me in they know I'm about to fight to the death. All of a sudden folks want to call instead of email because 'there was an obvious misunderstanding'. I then respond to the emails with a "this is what we discussed on the phone" follow up making sure the team member who looped me in knows the resolution. Don't come for my team. But to be clear, when they are in the wrong they are also apart of the resolution email. A teachable moment is a teachable moment.
