As a licensed therapist, this was a wise response. He said, “Why don’t you all come visit and we can go from there,” which suggests he wanted to talk with everyone, gather more information, and help address the situation. Notice he never agreed to counsel the daughter toward forgiveness. He simply invited them in for a conversation. Again, as a licensed counselor, we are trained to respond to potential abuse & predator-related concerns: you gather information first so you can assess the situation best and help the victim. You wouldn’t tell them recommendations without understanding the full context AND you absolutely don’t push them away. Or else you’d never get the info needed for reports or you’d never get to help them

As your friend, Nakalie, I am asking you to remove this video. My friend Doug Walden did an excellent job answering considering being caught off guard. I think I understand your intent. But some people who read this may assume that you have some evidence of something that prompted your call. I know just about everyone in the New Life church & the people he has in leadership are a people of great character & I know they guard the safety of their children. He has shared in his FB response what his precious wife has suffered. This church & Pastor Walden minister to every segment of society in our county. I believe they are the only church in Pulaski County that operate a Warming Center for the homeless. I know that homelessness is where your heart is as well. This man, his wife, & his church are the real deal. So as your friend who prays for you, one whose church was blessed by one of your calls, I asking you to please remove this post. Love you girl.
