Yes! I was struggling bad with alcohol, went to rehab and was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Now I’m stable, medicated, and sober for almost 2 years!

Literally ppl ask why I would drink… idk some days I’d wake up sad and think the drink would make things better.. next thing yk im blacked out. Some days I’d wake up in the best mood and think I deserve a drink, same outcome. Blacked out 🤦🏽♀️I’m sober now, not sure for how long anymore like a month or two. BUT I’m seeing the effects of alcohol on my mental health clearly now.

As a bipolar type 1 - I am slowly stopping. I don’t binge the way I used to, and i try to be aware when I start abuse it. However I did learn that i would rather suffer in pain and agony then go to the drs because I rather suffer then have people acknowledge the fact that I need help because of the shame I feel 😂😂 literally waited and ignored my pin till my siatica made me unable to walk . My body was going into shock from the pain and I thought I was just having hot flashes 💀

The relief!!! I tried everything, every med no relief. Fought like hell but now I’m on XR lorazepam and omg my life CHANGED. The anxiety was the culprit

I've been an alcoholic for the last 11 years, with recent times of sobriety. I got diagnosed with bipolar during the time I was a year sober. I have been to some form of inpatient 5 times since 2023. I cried from relief when I got my diagnosis. so much finally clicked. I'm in the camp of I can never drink again. I do keep relapsing, but so long as i am alive, I have a chance at recovery and I will never give up. some day I will find peace in a way I will never touch it again
