That’s not a Kia issue. That’s a terrible owner issue. Look at the damn car. It’s 2 years old and been through it.

THE FACTORY WARRANTY STAYS WITH THE VIN OF THE VEHICLE NO MATTER WHO SELLS IT! These dealerships really tell their customers they don’t get it cause they are “the second owner” not how they works, sounds like they are trying to get out of warranty work crazy!

Kia tech here. 10y 100k is first customer, second owner 5y 50k. not fair at all in my opinion and a set up for failure.

Can confirm that this is how Kia/Hyundai warranty works. Second owner factory warranty cuts the 100k/10yr almost in half. 60k/60months. Terrible

I was told the same thing about the warranty on my 2020 palisade. I bought it Father’s Day 2024. I start having issues with it 6 months after I bought it. I kept getting put on an oil consumption test and every time the claim was denied. My timing chain went out in Dec 2025 and I gave up.

I have a 2021 kia seltos 103 thousand miles it’s losing oil check engine light comes on I have a warranty but I can not get the warranty or the dealership to help any it’s so very frustrating.

If you buy Kia used CPO you get the 10yr 100k, same if sold within a family. If no to both, it's 5yr and 60k.

i believe it's 5yr 60k miles bumper to bumper 1st owners get 10yr 100k miles powertrain warranty if you are the second owner you can get that 10yr 100k miles powertrain warranty if your vehicle was sold to you and it was kia certified

The only way 2nd owner gets coverage is if bought the vehicle as a Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle with a limited warranty that extends the 10yr/100k to the Powertrain.

that means it wasn't a certified pre-owned cuz if it is a certified pre-owned that warranty transfers to the second owner. this thing has probably been wrecked and they couldn't certify it
