This is such a black and white take. Why can’t 2 things be true at once? It’s not impossible for a character to be for the male gaze AND contribute to the plot at the same time. Rangiku contributes to the plot. She’s still undeniably sexualized. Same for nami from one piece. Also, the examples with broly and ace don’t work because it’s just whataboutism. This problem exists for both genders.
